Inna Friesen

Inna Friesen is a trained medical doctor with experience spanning Germany, South Africa, Japan, and Spain. Currently, she leads the National and Supranational Reference Laboratory for Mycobacteria in Germany, holding specialist degrees in clinical microbiology and a master’s degree in epidemiology from the Berlin School of Public Health. She contributes to addressing antimicrobial resistance and is member of steering committees such as the ERLTB-Network by ECDC and the EUCAST-AMST Subcommittee for Mycobacteria. Passionate about translating cutting-edge science into practical diagnostics, she supports clinicians through diagnostic services and education in the field of mycobacteria.
